For example, if you purchase an individual membership of any time length when you already have an individual membership, the time will be added on to the end of your current membership period. The remaining time on your account can be increased up to 3 years.

If you purchase a family membership using a Nintendo Account that currently has an individual membership, you will be be offered a discounted price based on the number of remaining days on your individual membership. After purchasing the discounted family membership, your individual membership will end and your family membership will begin. - If you have 35 days remaining on your individual membership and you purchase an additional 1-year individual membership, your remaining time will be increased to 400 days.
- If you have 35 days remaining on an individual membership and you purchase a 1-year family membership, the price of the family membership will be discounted, the remaining 35 days on your individual membership will be removed, and you will begin your 1-year family membership.
- If you have 35 days remaining on an individual membership and you are added to someone else's family membership, your individual membership will continue and will not be added to the family membership. Make sure to adjust your auto-renewal settings for the individual membership appropriately.
- If you are part of a family group with someone who has 35 days remaining on a family membership and you purchase a 1-year family membership, both memberships will run concurrently and will not add together. Only the user who bought the original membership can extend it by purchasing an additional family membership.
