Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of Microsoft.NET-based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. If you want to use netflix you have to install silverlight. You will need your password to install it thats normal.

Silverlight is a plugin by Microsoft which Netflix used to deliver video to users although as we’ve already made clear, it’s now been replaced by the more reliable HTML5 standard on Macs made from 2011 onwards. Note that there’s no version of Silverlight for PPC Macs and no way to make Netflix work on a non-Intel Mac. In addition to watching instantly on the PC and Mac via Silverlight, Netflix members can enjoy the same movies and TV episodes on their television with a Netflix ready device such as the Netflix.
I am new to the Mac and I am questioning every move I make on it. I do not know what to download. I was wanting to watch Netflix but it said I had to download Microsoft Silverlight Plug-In, so I downloaded it, I moved it to my App folder, then pressed Control and clicked on it to open it and I was about to install it (All I had to do was type in my password) and then I searched it up on the internet, and there are mixed reviews. So, I didn't type in my password, I moved it to the trash.

Silverlight For Mac
1. Is Microsoft Silverlight safe?
2. Did I download it even if I didn't type in my password?
